Tonga

Tonga is located in the South Pacific. It is in the Western side of Samoa. It is two thirds away from Hawaii and New Zealand. The capital of Tonga is Nuku'alofa. Nuku’alofa is in the north coast of Tongatapu and is the largest city in Tonga. Tonga’s population is 100 000. Tonga has three main Islands which are the Vava’u group, the Ha’apai group and also the Tongatapu. Nuku'alofa is the capital and is on the main Island from Tongatapu. Tonga ruled parts of Fiji and Samoa. Tonga have a few volcanic islands, limestone islands and small coral atolls. Tonga uses limestones for jewellery. Global warming is serious that can threat Tonga because usually Tonga is mainly hot. The king of Tonga is Tupou IV he is a political leader of Tonga. Captain James Cook was the first to name Tonga (friendly island). These are the favourite foods that Tongans love to eat which are: raw fish, pulu masima, Ufi (Taro), chop suey, Talo, Pork, Keke, lau lau, (Otai drink). The things I don’t like about Tongan food are horse meat and pigeon. By Amanda.
